In-stream video ads

In-stream video ads are a great way to target people who enjoy watching videos on Facebook. Using the in-stream video advertising placement lets you deliver 5 - 15 second mid-roll video ads, meaning they are placed right in the middle of a video.

In-stream video targeting is audience-based, so viewers of the same video on Facebook might see different ads depending on their interests. All targeting options are supported by in-stream ads.

This placement is supported in the External Website and Brand Awareness campaign types.

To create an in-stream video ad

  1. Click New Campaign on the main navigation bar and proceed to create a campaign as usual.
  2. Under What do you want to promote? select External Website or Brand Awareness.
  3. Click Proceed.

  4. On the Ads Design step (2) of campaign creation, click Videos to upload the video you want shown in-stream. The video must be between 5 and 15 seconds in length.

  5. Under Placement & Previews, check Desktop Instream Video, Mobile Instream Video, or both.
