Set adset budgets

Ad campaign budgets are set on the Budget & Bidding step (4) of campaign creation. Set a total budget for the lifetime of the campaign, or set one per day, to ensure the campaign runs for the duration without running out of budget.

Campaign budget optimization (CBO) is enabled by default for all campaigns. This manages the campaign’s budget at the campaign level. Disable CBO to manage budget at the adset level.

When budgets are managed at the adset level, they are by default proportionally allocated to each adset based on the size of its audience.

To further control each adset's spend, distribute the campaign’s budget evenly across all adsets, or set a budget for each one. The sum of the adset budgets must be equal to the campaign’s budget.

To distribute budget evenly across adsets

  1. On the Budget & Bidding step (4) of campaign creation, enter your campaign’s total budget, and select Total or Per day.
  2. Uncheck Campaign Budget Optimization.
  3. Click Optimize for… to open the drop-down.
  4. Click the Budget distribution drop-down and select Evenly across all Adsets.
